About

U-EMC’s mission is to encourage undergraduates at the University of California, Davis to pursue their interests in equine by providing opportunities such as wetlabs, lectures, and more. We will create an environment of inclusivity, understanding, and encouragement by allowing all undergraduates, regardless of their background or declared interest, to participate in this club's board and its activities. Through this, we plan to positively impact the equine community by creating opportunities for exploration in both horsemanship and equine medicine.

Benefits of Joining

  • Provide experience and hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate students to work with equids in both veterinary and non-veterinary activities.
  • Expand awareness and knowledge of equine welfare and veterinary medicine through scheduling speakers, wet labs, lunch and dinner talks, and socials.
  • Provide a forum for learning life skills, skills for being successful in the equine industry, and the principles of successful veterinary careers.

Events

  • Lectures about specific equine topics
  • Wet labs to reinforce what is learned in lecture on live animals or specimens
  • Field trips
  • Veterinary student panels
