About
Our mission is to bridge the gap between theory and reality by teaching students the real-world skills of personal finance, investing, and wealth building that traditional classrooms often overlook. We aim to empower members with practical knowledge from budgeting, saving, and building credit to trading stocks real time, investing, understanding markets, and building income streams. We will help students make confident financial decisions today and set themselves up for lifelong success. Through workshops, discussions, live market simulations, and collaborative projects, we equip students not just to prepare for their careers years down the line, but to take control of their financial futures right now.

Intro to the Stock Market Lecture – Covered how stocks work, what moves prices, market structure, and how to open your first brokerage account.
Options Trading Fundamentals – Broke down calls, puts, basic strategies, risk management, and how options can be used for both income and hedging.
Liquidity & Market Cycles Lecture – Explained how macro liquidity, interest rates, and capital flows impact stocks, crypto, and overall market trends.
Internship & Finance Career Workshop – Discussed how to break into finance, resume positioning, networking strategies, and landing competitive internships.
Portfolio Building Session – Walked through asset allocation, ETFs vs. individual stocks, and long-term compounding strategies.

How to get involved
Joining UCD Personal Finance Club is simple and free. Students complete a one-time Discord application to gain access to our community and resources. Once approved, members receive full access to discussions, meeting updates, and exclusive content. We encourage members to stay active by participating in meetings, engaging in Discord discussions, asking questions, and contributing to market conversations. Active members unlock additional perks such as networking opportunities, leadership consideration, priority access to special events, and recognition within the community. Our goal is to build a committed group of students who are serious about learning how to build, maintain, and grow capital — not just passive members, but active participants.
