Our mission statement for starting UC Davis's first majorette dance team is based on the lack of inclusion in many clubs and sports teams on campus. On top of that, dance is an important part of all of our lives and the culture of majorette dance is more than just dance, it's tradition and familial. With this team we are not only hoping to spread creativity and love we have for this art, but we are hoping to build a community with other people who share our passion. We created this team because we wanted to have a sense of community for dancers that practice different styles but to also acknowledge the importance and value of Black cultural dances such as majorette, hip-hop, jazz and more.
