We build satellites, rovers, and drones. For undergrads, by undergrads, with neither fees nor apps. Join and learn!
Space and Satellite Systems is an undergraduate-only team of engineers focused on building reliable systems intended for space or aerial applications. With roles available for mechanical, aerospace, electrical, software, scientific, and many other disciplines, we welcome any prospective engineers looking for real-world experience. Crucially, we work with systems and skills meeting industry standards that your classes will not teach you. We are currently designing a cube satellite, with a NASA contract set for 2026, as well as expanding into the University Rover Challenge and building unmanned aerial systems. There are neither fees nor applications; just come to a meeting, there's room for you!
- Weekly to multiple-weekly meetings (depending on subteam) to progress projects
- Weekly to multiple-weekly training meetings running through exercises relevant to development
- Org-wide socials (e.g. movie night)
- In-house training designed to equip you for meaningful contribution in your chosen subteam
- Valuable, hands-on experience with industry standard engineering practices and tools
- Involvement in resume-relevant projects (to reiterate, you are building a satellite)
Though training starts quarterly, we always welcome new members. Just ask on Discord (https://discord.gg/2VePsGTpSr) or attend a meeting (schedule can be found on Discord), we'll get you situated.
