About

Project RISHI is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the sustainable development and growth of rural Indian communities. In partnership with local community members and social enterprises, we identify issues central to our target communities and provide the resources necessary to implement solutions through extensive field research and on-campus initiatives. Here at UC Davis, we are currently working with rural communities in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Maharashtra. We work on improving the quality of life in our towns by creating initiatives in education, women's empowerment, computer literacy, chronic illness, preventative health, financial literacy, youth initiatives, environmental sustainability, and clinic & pharmacy.

Hands-On Experience and Collaboration: Gain practical experience through extensive field research and on-campus initiatives. Collaborate with local community members, social enterprises, and NGOs to implement sustainable solutions, enhancing your skills in project management, research, and cross-cultural communication while making a tangible difference.

We recruit new members only in the fall at the beginning of the quarter. Join our mailing list and follow our social media to be notified when applications open and attend our recruitment events to learn more!
