Academic, social, and public events related to physics and astronomy
The Physics Club at UC Davis centers around bringing together those who love physics, both physics majors and not. We organize social mixers with faculty members and graduate students to give undergraduates opportunities to get to know their instructors professionally, rather than just in the classroom. We hold workshops and panels to prepare students for graduate school, shed light on opportunities within the Physics Department, and offer peer advising and tutoring to students. The Physics Club also puts on an annual show as a part of Picnic Day that features an educational parody of a popular film, complete with audience participation and detailed demonstrations that we build. Finally, we hold a variety of social meetings for students to get to know fellow physics lovers and relax in between their studying.
