Nadezhda Clinic was started in 2017 as Nadezhda Slavic Health Project by a group of UC Davis undergraduates, medical students, and physicians who realized that many members of the Russian/Ukrainian-speaking community experienced difficulty in obtaining health care due to cultural and language barriers. In 2019, we became Nadezhda Clinic and opened our doors to our first patients. Nadezhda Clinic strives to provide free healthcare to the underserved Russian/Ukrainian-speaking population. We provide interpretive services, focusing on culturally sensitive primary care and are opening up women's health and cardiology specialty clinics. We also offer our patients resources to adjusting to life in America. On clinic days, our undergraduates assist in many roles from receptionist, translator, taking vitals, and more. Outside of clinic, undergraduates work in their respective committees on developing resources for our patients and hosting events for our volunteers.
