About

GDAC at UC Davis is a student-led organization that provides a space for students to learn about game development, build portfolios, and connect with like-minded peers. No previous experience is required! We are passionate about game-making and the interdisciplinary collaboration that it necessitates. Through workshops, socials, and quarterly game jams, we hope to foster the spirit of game-making in Davis and create a community where a shared love of gaming unites us. Our workshops mainly cover topics in digital game development, but analog game developers are also welcome :)

Benefits of Joining

  • Develop knowledge and familiarity with popular game development software such as Unity and Godot, and FMOD.
  • Connect with a community of aspiring game developers and enthusiasts, industry experts, and game professors.
  • Collaborate with peers of different skillsets to create full games, regardless of prior experience.

Events

  • Workshops (e.g. Intro To Unity, Game Audio, Character Design Workshop)
  • Game Jams (hosted every quarter! in teams, make a game based on a prompt in 48 hours)
  • Pass-The-Controller Nights (e.g. Journey, Minit, Until Dawn)
